Chairman Chen Chang attended the plaque unveiling ceremony for the bonsai and scholar's rock cooperation at Guangzhou Cultural Park

On June 8, 2026, Chen Chang, President of Bonsai Clubs International (BCI), was invited to attend the 2026 annual working meeting of the Guangdong Landscape Architecture Society Penjing and Viewing Stone Professional Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Committee") and the plaque unveiling ceremony for the Guangzhou Cultural Park branch, jointly witnessing a new milestone in the development of Lingnan penjing and viewing stone culture.
On the morning of that day, a series of events were carried out in an orderly manner at Guangzhou Cultural Park. Before the plaque unveiling ceremony, the Committee first held its 2026 annual working meeting, attended by more than 30 core members. They comprehensively reviewed the achievements in academic research, talent cultivation, and cultural promotion in the first half of the year, and finalized the key tasks for the second half. Professor Luo Zerong, Director of the Committee, stated in his work report, that they will continue to adhere to the purpose of "inheritance, innovation, and development," deeply cultivating the four major sectors of academic research, education and training, science popularization and promotion, and exchange and cooperation, and continuously polishing the Lingnan penjing cultural brand.
At 11:30 a.m., the plaque unveiling ceremony was officially held in front of the Yuehai Hall in the park, presided over by Lao Hui, Secretary-General of the Committee. President Chen Chang, together with Peng Chengyi, leader of the Guangdong Landscape Architecture Society, Luo Zerong, Director of the Committee, Lao Hui, representative of the President of the Guangdong Flower Association, Huang Yiyun, Director of Guangzhou Cultural Park, Pan Qunjian, Deputy Director of Guangzhou Liuhua Lake Park, and other industry colleagues and art experts, took the stage to witness the official unveiling of the Committee's Guangzhou Cultural Park branch. The atmosphere was solemn and enthusiastic, with guests from all sides gathering together to witness this important moment of resource integration and coordinated development in the Lingnan penjing and viewing stone industry.
Guangzhou Cultural Park is a core exhibition venue for Lingnan garden culture. Over the years, it has collaborated with the Committee to hold multiple high-standard penjing and viewing stone themed exhibitions, skill competitions, and other events. The 2025 Lingnan Wax Stone Collection Retrospective Exhibition received widespread acclaim from the industry. It is understood that, leveraging the park's advantages as a public cultural platform and the Committee's professional talent and technical resources, the two parties will carry out comprehensive cooperation in the future in areas such as exhibition display, talent training, science education, and academic seminars.
President Chen Chang expressed during on-site exchanges, that BCI will fully support all subsequent cooperation between the two parties, using this site as an exchange window to continuously promote Lingnan penjing and viewing stones to go abroad, facilitate mutual learning and exchange among international penjing and viewing stone practitioners and enthusiasts, and make the art of penjing and viewing stones a friendly bond for cultural exchange between China and foreign countries.
