2000 Ben Oki International Design Award 1st Runner-up
The 1st Runner-up for the 2000 Ben Oki International Design Award
is the Juniperus prostrata of Joseph James of Los Alamitos, CA.
The tree was purchased at a Plant Sale in 1991.
For the next three years Mr. James concentrated on the heath of
the tree.
In 1994 it was repotted, reduced in height, width, and depth.
The shari and jin were reworked to better define the lifelines
of
the tree and it was last repotted in 1997.
